Barnum's Magazine Ad

Infusions Tea Set

A Packaging project where I created my very own Tea Box, along with a tea envelope and tag. Using Citrus Green Tea for the flavor, I gave the entire set an Asian-inspired calligraphic look, especially the Infusions Logo (A person made of tea mist with tea leaves surrounding its head) and flavor image, which includes the fusion of an orange and green tea leaves.

A&W Promotional AD Designs

"Stylish" Model Girl

The first graphics I've created as a part of my children's line, TOONVIDUALS, these are the three different versions of the "Stylish" Model Girl. Donning a pair of sunglasses and diamond earrings, they each carry a shopping bag in their arms while being surrounded by all the accessories a girl loves. As for the finishing touch, the word "Stylish" is presented above the girls in big, bold letters with a diamond above the "I".

Detroit Impact Center Event Flyers

These are some flyers I completed during my time as a Graphic Design intern for the Detroit Impact Center back in the summer of 2016. It was one of my first experiences creating an art piece for a client so I could get a sense of what it was like to work as a professional Graphic Designer, learning about a customer's needs and wants when creating a new project.

Farah Undersea Comic
Single Panel Gag Comic

A Graphic Novel project where I created a single panel gag comic portraying a dancer going into a fancy restaurant and trying to dance his way in as an alternative payment, much to the cashier's irritation. At the same time, a security guard is standing behind the dancer while everyone else is watching the whole thing in confusion and amusement.

A Graphic Novel project where I created a Nine Panel Comic. It is titled "Farah Undersea," which is like a reverse Little Mermaid story where a young girl named Farah finds a sparkling seashell as she is walking along the beach one day. As she picks it up, the seashell turns into a fish that transforms Farah into a mermaid, then drags her undersea to introduce her to an underwater kingdom.

Parents' Anniversary Cartoon Portrait

A cartoon portrait I created for my parents' 28th anniversary (May 15, 2021). A while ago, I chose a picture from my parents' photo album and stylized it in my own art style. This was a collaborative picture I did with my younger sister where I did the line art while she did the shading.

DAYDREAMER
Black Suburban Kids Logo
A commission where I created a logo for a company called Black Suburban Kids, a clothing line and podcast which focuses on upbuilding African Americans through black success stories. The graphic is a complex line drawing of a face with a lotus crown on top (the lotus represents strength and overcoming barriers). The title is in simple, elegant type to balance out the detailed graphic above it.
"DAYDREAMER" portrays a young girl in her own little world as she imagines herself bringing her artwork of colorful birds to life with her paintbrush amongst the cloudy blue skies. Her daydream is projected from her beautiful, curly puff ponytail as she closes her eyes and smiles blissfully. The bright and radiant tones are used to emphasize the carefree colorfulness of a child's vivid imagination.

MASKING
WALL CANVAS
Based on a childhood memory, "WALL CANVAS" portrays a young girl being inspired by one of her favorite movies, and innocently drawing out her fantasy of being in the movie with her imaginary friends on the family room walls! The bright colors are used to evoke feelings of wonder, bliss, and other positive aspects that are commonly associated with youths.

"MASKING" is a mental health art piece which depicts a young woman who is forced to wear a mask to live up to all the demanding expectations people have for her, which takes a heavy toll. The cloudy black atmosphere represents how trapped and overwhelmed the young woman feels from all the pointing fingers and critical words she’s receiving, which are accentuated in white to resemble how loud and overbearing they are.

THE WEIGHT
"THE WEIGHT" is a mental health art piece which depicts how trauma can be passed down through generations, which is represented by the aforementioned weight itself. The Grandmother (first figure) bears the weight with a stoic composure, which is passed down to the Mother (second figure), who forces herself to be strong even though the weight is burdensome. The Daughter (third figure) is the first person to break the cycle, pulling at the chains with all her might as she sheds tears from the painful process. She was able to succeed as the Future Daughter (fourth figure) wears a bright smile on her face as she doesn't have the weight around her neck, being the first one brought into a generation of healing.
